August 2005

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be held at Lil' Dominick's Restaurant at 11 am on August 20th. This is located on US Rt. 11 between Central Square and Hastings. Hope to see you there.

President's Note

We were invited by the NYTRO Club to go to Brasher Falls for a week-end stay and ride. Some of us went last week-end and we had a great time. It is a great place to ride, plus they have camp grounds available and even some cabins you can rent.

There has been a lot of thefts in our area lately, so don't leave your key in your machine and lock things up until we find out who is doing all the stealing.

News

We had a great turn-out for our annual Pig Roast last month, and appreciate all your support for this annual event.

As you all know we have regular work details every Tuesday evening at 4 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2 pm. It is always posted at our Pavilion at Little Lukey's where these work details are at. Our Sponsor, The Portly Angler is offering free lodging for one night during the month of August for anyone who wishes to come up and help on the work details. All you need to do is get a slip signed by the Trail Coordinator, or one of his assistants. Contact Sean, Bruce or Lee at 298-4773 to make arrangements to stay.

Events

Our annual camp-out is this coming week-end at Detweiler's field on NYS Rt. 13 approx. 2 miles east of Altmar. It is scheduled for August 6th and 7th, but you can come in and set up on the 5th.

We are also gathering to ride in the Pulaski Fireman's Parade on August 6th at Dave Hall's Lumberyard and Sawmill just north of the Village on US Rt. 11 at 5:15 pm sharp. All are welcome and be sure to bring your helmet.

We have a new event scheduled this year. On August 27th Mark Hannon of the Hayloft Pub is featuring an "ATV Rodeo" on our behalf. It will be held on his property right there at the Hayloft Pub. This is something new we are trying and if it works out well, it will probably be an annual event. Sounds like fun so tell your friends and neighbors and lets get a good turn-out. See the ad on the outside page of this newsletter for the particulars.

XBobby Wheeler of the Townhouse Restaurant in Williamstown is putting on the All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti dinner again this year on October 6th from 5 pm to 7 pm at $6.00 per plate. This is a profit only event put on for our benefit only, so come and enjoy.
