The trails are open!

225 club ticket sales are going slow. Half the tickets still remain to be sold. Its very important we sell every ticket this year, because the money raised is going into our Excavator fund for future payment. If you haven't received a packet yet to sell, or would like to purchase a ticket, please contact Brad Hilton at 315-298-3261

April 2006

** IMPORTANT **
UPCOMING EVENT

On April 15th at the Altmar Hotel will be the new “Trail Truck” key presentation to President, Steve Cronk with Assembly members Will Barclay and DeDe Scozzafava in attendance along with Oswego County Legislators.  A Trail Truck demonstration is planned. Come and see how this truck works and how the Club will benefit from it’s use.

The “Trail Truck” raffle drawing will be made following  the truck presentation awarding $500. to the lucky winner.  Tickets will be available for sale just prior to the drawing.

ALL MEMBERS ARE URGED TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT and attend the Annual Meeting.  Nominations for officers will be made at this meeting, with elections following.

Following the annual meeting a guided trail ride is planned if enough of you come prepared to ride at 4 PM.  Show your support – bring your machine.

TRADE SHOW

On June 10th and 11th our 2nd annual Trade Show/Craft Fair & ATV Rodeo will be held at the Town House Restaurant in Williamstown.  This year we are combining the Trade Show with a ATV Rodeo to make the event more appealing to all who love four wheeling.  Barry and Thelma Moot are chairpersons for this event.  To make this event  more successful each year requires a lot of time and work for all involved.  The more people we can count on to help makes the load a lot lighter.  Please call Barry or Thelma to offer your help.  You can reach them at 298-2480.
Your help could make the difference in organizing this event.

ATV Rodeo

This years Rodeo will be a two day event if there are enough competitors to warrant it.  The events included will be a mud bog, log pull and car climb. The cost for these events will be
$10 for competitors each day of the rodeo.

Lottery Ticket Sales

This year Chairperson Dave Gaffey, Jr. has opted to run this annual lottery in August.  Tickets will be disbursed to the club membership starting in June.  It is felt that this lottery conflicted with membership collections early in the season and was moved to a more appropriate time of the year.
The cost of each ticket will remain at $5. each.  If you have questions please contact Dave at 964-1122.

West Extension News

A reminder:  renewal membership dues are now being accepted. Please mail to the West Extension club address.
The West Extension annual calendar is attached and will be changed as more information becomes available.

We had a great turnout for our first meeting, hope more of you will be there for the April meeting.

We are having a chicken barbeque on May 27th at Humprey’s Hide-a-Way from 12-5 PM.  Tickets available by calling 564-6619 or from any club member.  Dinners are $7. and ½ chickens are $4.  Take outs are available.

Check out our enclosed calendar for all the scheduled events and rides.

Sponsor Discount

All club members are now being offered a 10% discount on all parts and accessories purchased at Wheel-A-Way Motorsports in Fulton, The Caprara Toy Store in Pulaski Preferred Powersports in Brewerton, and Waite Motorsports in Adams Center.  You will be asked to show your current membership card.  Stop in soon and see what they have to offer.

Again this year Wheel-A-Way Motorsports in Fulton is donating a new ATV for use by the Defiance Fire Dept. in Altmar for this new season.  Our thanks go to Mark Eagan for his generosity.

Trail News

The President is asking that you all please stay on the trails. Many of our landowners have mentioned that especially muddy trails seem to get wider as the season goes on. They would like you all to enjoy those trails, but remember not to make your own trails and follow the ones already there. Remember you’re riding an ATV and are bound to get some mud on that machine.

Member Chuck Skinner has built a ticket booth for the Club. It can be used at any of our Club events. Nice job Chuck.

President’s Note

In the four years this Club has been in existence no one has given us anything. We have had to fight for everything with the help of fund raisers, sponsorships, donations and memberships. We have been sitting back asking our Senators, Assembly members, etc. to bring funding to us. Now let’s go get it. We need to rally 400-500 people to go to Albany and show them we mean business. Come to the April meeting and tell us how you feel.
