The Club has again been asked to help in parking cars during the Oswego County Fair in Sandy Creek. The event will run from July 2nd thru July 6th. All participants will be required to wear head protection when riding an ATV.

Camping will again be available. On July 4th a chicken BBQ will be provided at fireworks time to only those members who help with parking

During the fair our Club will be providing food and drinks to those who donate their time. The Club is also looking for donations of salads, salad fixin’s, condiments, eggs, rolls, hot dogs, hamburgers, paper products to help defray the cost that the Club incurs feeding all people who donate their time. Contact Gail Atkinson, 298-2110, with any donations. Donations are needed July 2 to 6th, five days.

In case some of you have not been in attendance at a meeting where the 50/50 winnings were explained, here is the explanation. Each time the Club holds a 50/50 raffle the accumulated funds are put into a special expense fund for use of the President to cover his costs in conducting Club business.

BENEFIT RIDE

June 7th will be the Club’s benefit ATV ride with all proceeds helping the Defiance Fire Dept. in Altmar, NY to complete payment for a rescue type ATV. The unit will be used when there are ATV related accidents or illnesses on the Club’s trails and also would help with other off-road calls, including getting to anglers who need assistance along the Salmon River. It could be one of us.

The cost for a benefit rider is $10. each. The ride will originate at the Defiance Fire Dept. building. Registration is 9 AM until 11 AM. The ride consists of over 45 round trip miles of trails (some of these trails are only open for this one day with special permission) and will have 10 stops. The stops are Fat Nancy’s in Pulaski, Richland Hotel and Wilson’s Store in Richland, Orwell Diner and Sharpshooters in Orwell, the Austin Road tent, The Altmar Hotel, Little Lukey’s Convenience Store and Salmon River Outfitters in Altmar and a tent on Falls Road. A map will be provided to each rider so that he/she can get a stamp for each stop. Cards will then be drawn when you arrive back at the Fire Barn. The best of five cards is the winner. Prizes will be announced at a later date.

Camping will be available at Little Lukey’s Convenience Store, Brenda’s Motel and Campground, Salmon River Outfitters, Fox Hollow Salmon River Lodge or a new site on Hogs Back Road in Orwell. There are also motels rooms available in the area. All the phone numbers are listed on our sponsor list except the new site.

We hope to see all members there to enjoy the ride and help the local firemen complete payment on the new ATV rescue unit. Showing our Club support on this event is very important.
