May 2010 NEWSLETTER
*****************************************************************************************
NEXT MEETING
The next regular meeting will be held on Saturday,
May 15. 2010, 2010 at 11 AM at the Mapleview Family Restaurant in Mapleview,
New York. .
There will be a Club ride after the meeting leaving
from Altmar.

PRESIDENT’S NOTE
We are the only ones that can control the outlaw riders.
Us as a Club can stop this type of riding if
we all stick together. It is very important that we keep them off of the closed
trails within our system so that some day we may get them back in use.
It is very important to sell or buy the tickets in the
newsletter which will be used toward the cost of the newsletter.
We are getting little help at work details, so if you
want to keep having a good time going on new and better tails we need your help.
Steve

The Club would like to thank Earl Becker Construction for providing the screened
gravel at ½ price for our use on our trails. It has been a big asset to our trail
work.
Also, our thanks goes to Jim Cronk for his donation of $50. from his 50/50 earnings.
CLUB NEWSLETTER

A newsletter raffle to help with this year’s cost will
start this month. We will sell 1000 tickets at $5. each. First prize will be $500.
with four other prizes of $100. each. The tickets are part of the May newsletter.
One of the newsletter pages will include three tickets. You don’t have to purchase
all three, but if you would like to buy/sell the other two you are welcome to do
so. We hope all members will buy at least one ticket. All ticket holders will be
responsible for mailing in the stub and check for any tickets purchased. The raffle
drawing will be held at the Landowners Dinner on September 19, 2010.
Additional raffle tickets will be available at each
meeting throughout the season and at all Club events. The Chairperson for this raffle
is Dorine Setter who can be reached at 315-350-9609 with any questions.
Remember, if all members bought just one ticket the
cost for printing and mailing the newsletter would be covered for the year. We need
your help to bring you all the news you deserve.

IMPORTANT TRAIL INFO
The trails are now open but some trails are presently
closed. Please be aware of this information
before you start riding.
The Nevermore Trail to Gantley Trail and Bertha Mae
Trail leading to Route 104 are closed. The Play Pen area is in this area and is
affected by this closure. A new landowner has been contacted to give permission
to ride these trails, but no firm answer has been received. Until such time as we
receive permission do not ride this trail.
The Yamaha Trail is temporarily
closed due to logging that is ongoing. We will let you
know when it is open for the season.
The Dam Rd. Trail is closed for the month of May to
allow the landowner to turkey hunt.
.
OSWEGO COUNTY
FAIR
CAR PARKING
The Club has again been hired for $2500. to help in
parking
cars during the Oswego County Fair in Sandy Creek. The event will run from July
1st to July 5th. We are looking for volunteers to help with
this event. Sign up sheets will be available at each upcoming meeting.
This is a good
fund raiser for the Club and we need your help. We don’t want to have to hire workers.
Each year it becomes a little bit better and more help is added. Come join in and
help the Club and the County with this event.
Free camping for all workers will be available. The Club members help with providing
food for our workers. Donations of cases of water for the fair workers will be needed.
Call Mary @ 298-5444 to arrange delivery.
NYSORVA RAFFLE
This raffle has been a great fund raiser for our Club. For each ticket we sell the Club
receives $2.50 of the $5. cost. Again this year we have been asked to participate
in this raffle and hope that you all will take tickets at the next meeting to sell.
The raffle drawing is in October, 2010 with a give-away totaling well over $1000.
You might even be lucky enough to win this drawing and help the Club.
See the insert in this newsletter for more information.
ATV PATROL
The ATV Patrol is set and presently out patrolling trails
looking for violators such as speeders, aggressive riders, lout exhaust, and non-club
members on the trails. Members need to follow all NYS Laws, and club rules at all
times.
NEWSLETTER EDITOR REPLACEMENT
While I have enjoyed being your editor for almost five
years, it is time for me to step down. I am looking for a volunteer to take over
the Newsletter Editor position. Anyone interested or having questions can contact
me @ 298-4267 or Mary at 298-5444.
